by SANCHEZ, Juan Manuel

Painter, muralist, and print maker, Juan Manuel Sánchez was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1930. He studied with Alfonso Lafita and Vicente Puig. Sánchez first exhibited with Ricardo Carpani and Mario Mollari, in 1956. In 1959, they founded the Spartacus Group with Juana E. Diz, E. Bute, C. Piedras, R. Lara, P. Di Bianco, F. Venturi and C. Sessano. Juan Manuel Sánchez has received prizes and mentions throughout his career; has exhibited and exhibits his work around the world and the latter forms part of the permanent collection of several museums in different countries. Currently, the artist resides in Vancouver, Canada and divides his time between his studios in Vancouver and Buenos Aires.
